Defaming and Fighting Muslims is Wrong

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught that defaming a Muslim is wrong and fighting them is disbelief.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah SAW said: 'Defaming a Muslim is evildoing and fighting him is Kufr'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect others, Speak kindly of others

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught us that it is wrong to defame or fight another Muslim. Defaming someone means to speak badly about them or spread rumors about them. This can hurt their reputation and make other people think less of them. Fighting someone means to physically harm or attack them in any way. Both of these actions are considered wrong in Islam because they hurt the person being targeted as well as the community as a whole. It's important for us to remember this teaching so we can treat each other with respect and kindness, even if we disagree on certain things.
