Marriage of the Prophet and 'Aishah

SUMMARY: The Prophet married 'Aishah in Shawwal and found her to be the most favored of his wives.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Prophet married me in Shawwal, and he consummated the marriage with me in Shawwal, and which of his wives find more favor with him than me?"
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ تَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فِي شَوَّالٍ وَأُدْخِلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِي شَوَّالٍ فَأَىُّ نِسَائِهِ كَانَ أَحْظَى عِنْدَهُ مِنِّي

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the marriage of the Prophet Muhammad and his wife, Aisha. It was narrated by Aisha that they were married in Shawwal, which is a month in the Islamic calendar, and consummated their marriage during that same month. This hadith shows us how much favor and love the Prophet had for Aisha as he chose her to be one of his wives. It also teaches us about commitment, loyalty, respect, and love between spouses as it was narrated that no other wife found more favor with him than Aisha did.
