Offering Oneself in Marriage

SUMMARY: A woman offered herself in marriage to the Prophet and Anas's daughter laughed at her lack of modesty. Anas then praised the woman for her courage in offering herself to the Prophet.

It was narrated from Anas that a woman offered herself in marriage to the Prophet. The daughter of Anas laughed and said: "How little was her modesty". Anas said: "She was better than you; she offered herself in marriage to the Prophet".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a woman who offered herself in marriage to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. When Anas's daughter heard this, she laughed at what she perceived as a lack of modesty on the part of this woman. However, Anas praised her for having such courage and faith that she was willing to offer herself up as a wife for the Prophet ﷺ. This hadith teaches us that we should always be respectful towards others, even if we don't agree with their choices or actions. We should also strive to have faith and courage like this woman did when it comes to our own decisions and actions, no matter how difficult they may seem at first glance.
