The Prophet's Practices During Ramadan

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not recite the entire Quran in one night, nor did he pray Qiyam until morning or fast an entire month except Ramadan.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "I do not know that the Messenger of Allah recited the whole Quran in one night, or prayed Qiyam until morning, or ever fasted an entire month, except Ramadan".
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ لاَ أَعْلَمُ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ كُلَّهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ وَلاَ قَامَ لَيْلَةً حَتَّى الصَّبَاحِ وَلاَ صَامَ شَهْرًا قَطُّ كَامِلاً غَيْرَ رَمَضَانَ

This hadith is about the practices of the Prophet Muhammad during the holy month of Ramadan. It was narrated by 'Aishah, who was one of his wives and a close companion. She said that she never knew him to recite the whole Quran in one night, or to pray Qiyam until morning, or to fast an entire month except for during Ramadan. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and make sure we are doing all we can during this blessed month. We should take advantage of this time to increase our worship and draw closer to Allah SWT through prayer, fasting and reciting His words from the Quran.
