EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of fasting in Islam. It was narrated by Saeed bin Abi Hind and Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said “Fasting is a shield”. This means that fasting can protect us from the evil in this world. When we fast, we are able to control our desires and stay away from bad habits such as lying or stealing. We also become more aware of our actions and how they affect others around us. By abstaining from food and drink during Ramadan, we are able to focus on spiritual matters such as prayer and charity instead of worldly matters like greed or envy. In addition to protecting us from sinning, fasting also helps strengthen our faith in Allah by reminding us that He is always watching over us even when we cannot see Him directly.
