EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is teaching us about the importance of fasting during Ramadan. He explains that fasting is like a shield which protects us from bad deeds and wrongdoings. However, he also warns us to not damage this shield by breaking our fast or committing any sins while fasting. This hadith teaches us to take advantage of the protection that comes with fasting and to make sure we do not break it by doing anything wrong or sinful. It also reminds us of our obligation to fast during Ramadan as it is one of the five pillars of Islam.
