Fasting in the Month of Shaban

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to fast more in the month of Shaban than any other month.

It was narrated that Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah did not fast in any month of the year more than he did in Shaban. He used to fast all of Shaban".

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Aishah tells us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to fast more in the month of Shaban than any other month. This is a reminder for us to increase our worship during this blessed month, as it is a time for spiritual reflection and renewal. We should strive to make use of this time by increasing our acts of worship, such as fasting, praying, reciting Quran and giving charity. Doing so will bring us closer to Allah and help us become better Muslims.

Additionally, we can also take this opportunity to reflect on our lives and make changes where necessary; such as improving our character or behaviour towards others. By doing so we can become better people who are pleasing in Allah’s sight and earn His rewards both in this life and the hereafter.
