Hastening Funeral Processions

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised to hasten with the funeral procession, as it is either taking the deceased to a good place or relieving oneself from an evil.

Abu Hurairah said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: ,Hasten with the Janazah, for if it was righteous then you are taking it toward something good, and if it was otherwise, then it is an evil of which you are relieving yourselves"'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Hastening with funerals
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad's hadith encourages us to hasten with the funeral procession of a deceased person. This is because if the deceased was righteous then we are taking them towards something good and if they were otherwise, then we are relieving ourselves from an evil. This hadith teaches us that even in death, we should be mindful of our actions and strive for goodness. It also reminds us that death is inevitable and should be accepted as part of life's cycle. We should not delay in burying a dead body but rather do it quickly so that their soul can rest in peace.
