Emulating the Prophet's Prayer

SUMMARY: Abu Musa tried to emulate the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in his prayer by reciting one hundred verses from An-Nisa'.

It was narrated from Abu Mijlaz that: Abu Musa was between Makkah and Al-Madinah. He prayed 'Isha with two rak'ahs, then he stood and prayed one rak'ah of witr in which he recited one hundred verses from An-Nisa'. Then he said: "I tried my best to place my feet where the Messenger of Allah placed his, and to recite what the Messenger of Allah recited".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a man named Abu Musa who was travelling between Makkah and Al-Madinah. He wanted to emulate the Prophet Muhammad's prayer so he prayed two rak'ahs of 'Isha and then stood up for one rak'ah of witr in which he recited one hundred verses from An-Nisa'. After completing his prayer, he said that he had tried his best to place his feet where the Messenger of Allah had placed his and recite what the Messenger of Allah had recited. This shows us how important it is for Muslims to try their best to follow in the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Muhammad.
