Witnessing Goodness and Supplication of Muslims

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad advised Umm 'Atiyyah to bring out adolescent girls and women in seclusion to witness the goodness and supplication of Muslims, but menstruating women should stay away from the place of prayer.

It was narrated that Muhammad said: "I met Umm 'Atiyyah and said to her: 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah say (anything)?' When she mentioned him, she would say: 'May my father be ransomed for him'. (He said) 'Bring out the adolescent girls and the women in seclusion and let them witness goodness and the supplication of the Muslims, but let the menstruating women keep away from the place where the people pray'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of witnessing goodness and supplication among Muslims. The Prophet Muhammad advised Umm 'Atiyyah to bring out adolescent girls and women in seclusion so that they can witness the goodness and supplications of other Muslims. However, he also instructed that menstruating women should stay away from the place where people pray as it is not permissible for them to enter a mosque during their period. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions when we are around others, especially those who are more vulnerable such as young girls or those who are not able to leave their homes due to certain circumstances. It also reminds us that we must respect religious boundaries set by Allah even if it means sacrificing something we want or need at times.
