Prostration During Recitation of Quran

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet ﷺ and his companions Abu Bakr and Umar prostrating during a certain verse of the Quran.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "Abu Bakr and Umar prostrated during: 'When the heaven is split asunder,' as did the one who was better than them (the Prophet )".
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ سَجَدَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ - رضى الله عنهما - فِي ‏{‏ إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ ‏}‏ وَمَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُمَا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of prostrating during recitation of the Quran. It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that when Abu Bakr and Umar heard a certain verse in the Quran they both prostrated as did the Prophet (ﷺ). This shows us that it is important to show reverence for Allah's words by prostrating when we hear them. It also shows us how much respect and reverence our beloved Prophet had for Allah's words. We should strive to emulate him in this regard by showing respect for Allah's words whenever we hear them.
