Prostration During Recitation of Quran

SUMMARY: This hadith narrates that Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, and the one who was better than them prostrated during recitation of certain verses from the Quran.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, and the one who was better than them prostrated during 'When the heaven is split asunder' and 'Read! In the name of your Lord'."
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ، عَنْ قُرَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ سَجَدَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ - رضى الله عنهما - وَمَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُمَا فِي ‏{‏ إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ ‏}‏ وَ ‏{‏ اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates that Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, as well as someone even better than them prostrated during reciting certain verses from the Quran. It is a sign of respect for the words of Allah in the holy book. The act of prostration is an expression of humility before God's greatness and power. It also serves to remind us to stay humble in our daily lives and to remember that we are all servants before God's will. We should strive to live our lives according to His teachings so that we can attain His pleasure.
