Seven Long Verses of the Quran

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the seven long verses of the Quran.

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: Concerning the words of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime: "Seven of Al-Mathani (seven repeatedly-recited): "The seven long ones".
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ‏{‏ سَبْعًا مِنَ الْمَثَانِي ‏}‏ قَالَ السَّبْعُ الطُّوَلُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Ibn Abbas and it talks about the seven long verses of the Quran, which are known as Al-Mathani. These verses are repeated in prayers and recitations. They are a part of Surah Al-Fatiha, which is also known as ‘The Opening’ or ‘The Key’ to understanding other parts of the Quran.
