The Last Hajj of the Prophet (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) performed the last Hajj of his life by riding a camel and pointing a bent-headed stick towards the Black Stone.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas.: In his Last Hajj the Prophet performed Tawaf of the Ka'ba riding a camel and pointed a bent-headed stick towards the Corner (Black Stone).
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ طَافَ النَّبِيُّ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ، يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنٍ‏.‏ تَابَعَهُ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ أَخِي الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَمِّهِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith narrated by Ibn 'Abbas, it is mentioned that in his last Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ performed Tawaf around the Ka'ba while riding on a camel and pointed a bent-headed stick towards the corner which contains the Black Stone. This hadith shows us how important it was for him to perform this ritual in his last pilgrimage as he was an example for all Muslims to follow. It also teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions and rituals when performing religious duties as they are essential for our faith. Furthermore, it also teaches us that we should respect all holy places and treat them with reverence as they are sacred sites for Muslims around the world.
