This hadith highlights the importance of repeating certain phrases when calling for prayer, known as adhan. It was narrated by Mujammi' bin Yahya Al-Ansari who was sitting with Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunaif when he heard the mu’adhdhin call out “Allahu Akbar” twice, followed by “Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah” twice, and then “Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasul-Allah” twice. This repetition was based on a statement from Prophet Muhammad himself which was relayed to them by Mu’awiyah bin Abi Sufyan.
