Sunan an-Nasai 276 (Book 1, Hadith 277) #14883
Performing I'tikaf with 'Aishah

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) would allow 'Aishah to wash his head while he was performing I'tikaf.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Prophet would put his head out for me while he was performing I'tikaf 1 and I would wash it, when I was menstruating". 1 Mujawir ("next door") here means while performing I'tikaf.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show respectfulness towards your spouse; Help those in need; Be devoted and committed to Allah's commands; Take care of those around you; Be kind regardless of any differences you may have between you .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of performing the ritual of I’tikaf and how it is a sign of devotion to Allah. During this time, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) allowed his wife ‘Aishah to wash his head even though she was menstruating at that time. This shows us that even during times when one is not able to perform certain religious duties due to physical or mental limitations, they can still show their devotion and commitment in other ways such as helping others in need or taking care of those around them. It also teaches us that we should be respectful and kind towards our spouses regardless of any differences we may have between us.
