Reciting Quran During Menstruation

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to lay his head in the lap of one of his wives while she was menstruating and recite Qur'an.

Maimunah said: "The Messenger of Allah used to lay his head in the lap of one of us while she was menstruating and recite Qur'an, and one of us would take the mat to the Masjid and spread it out while she was menstruating".

This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) practice of reciting the Quran during menstruation. It shows that even though a woman is in her state of haydh, she can still be involved in religious activities such as recitation and prayer. This hadith also teaches us that it is permissible for a man to lay his head on a woman's lap while she is menstruating, as long as there are no other intentions behind it. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to take part in religious activities even when we are not feeling our best or going through difficult times.
