Sunan an-Nasai 19 (Book 1, Hadith 19) #14625
Seeking Refuge from Devils in the Toilet

SUMMARY: Seeking refuge with Allah from male and female devils when entering a place of relieving oneself.

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: "The Messenger of Allah entered Al-Khala' (the toilet) and said: 'Allahumma inni a'uthu bika min al-khubuthi wal-khaba'ith ".1 1 See Ma'alam As-Sunan by Al-Khattabi. And Al-Khala' is the area one relieves oneself in. It refers to outside or other than that, it should not be understood to mean toilet only.

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek refuge with Allah wherever you go
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Anas bin Malik, who was a companion of Prophet Muhammad. It tells us that when entering a place of relieving oneself, such as the toilet, we should seek refuge with Allah from male and female devils. This teaches us to be mindful of our actions and to always remember to ask for protection from Allah in all situations. We should also be aware that even though this hadith specifically mentions the toilet as an example, it can also refer to any other area outside one's home or other places where one may feel vulnerable or exposed. Therefore, it is important for us to remember that we should always seek refuge with Allah no matter where we are or what situation we find ourselves in.
