Pay your due share in charity as prescribed by Islam even if you are not financially well off or have other commitments such as jihad or family ties with prophets/messengers of God .

This hadith is about the importance of paying zakat according to Islamic teachings. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) ordered someone to collect zakat from people and when some refused he responded in different ways depending on their circumstances. For example Ibn Jamil was a poor man who was made wealthy by Allah and His Apostle so the Prophet asked why he wasn't paying zakat while Khalid bin Al-Walid was keeping his armor for Jihad so the Prophet said that it was unfair for him to ask him for zakat. As for 'Abbas bin 'Abdul Muttalib who is the uncle of Allah's Apostle then zakat is compulsory on him and he should pay it double as a sign of respect towards his nephew.
