The Reward of Spending on Children

SUMMARY: Spending on one's children is rewarded by Allah.

Narrated Zainab: (the daughter of Um Salama) My mother said, "O Allah's Messenger ! Shall I receive a reward if I spend for the sustenance of Abu Salama's offspring, and in fact they are also my sons?" The Prophet replied, "Spend on them and you will get a reward for what you spend on them".

QUICK LESSONS:
Spend generously on your family members especially your children

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of spending on one's children and how it is rewarded by Allah. Zainab, the daughter of Um Salama asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ if she would receive a reward for spending on her step-children, to which he replied in the affirmative. This hadith teaches us that we should not be stingy when it comes to our children and that we will be rewarded for our generosity towards them. It also shows us that even if they are not our biological children, we should still treat them with kindness and provide for their needs as much as possible. We can learn from this hadith that taking care of our family is an important part of being a good Muslim and will be rewarded by Allah in this life and in the hereafter.
