Sahih al-Bukhari 1418 (Book 24, Hadith 22) #1362
Generosity towards Daughters Shields from Hell-Fire

SUMMARY: A woman and her two daughters came to the Prophet (ﷺ) asking for alms, but he only had one date which he gave to them. The Prophet (ﷺ) then said that whoever is put to trial by these daughters and treats them generously will be shielded from Hell-Fire.

Narrated Aisha: A lady along with her two daughters came to me asking (for some alms), but she found nothing with me except one date which I gave to her and she divided it between her two daughters, and did not eat anything herself, and then she got up and went away. Then the Prophet came in and I informed him about this story. He said, "Whoever is put to trial by these daughters and he treats them generously (with benevolence) then these daughters will act as a shield for him from Hell-Fire". .

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous towards your daughter/children

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of being generous towards one's daughters. It was narrated by Aisha that a woman with her two daughters came to her asking for alms, but she only had one date which she gave them. The Prophet (ﷺ) then said that whoever is put to trial by these daughters and treats them generously will be shielded from Hell-Fire. This teaches us the importance of being generous towards our own children, especially our daughters, as it can protect us from punishment in the hereafter. We should strive to treat our children with kindness and generosity so we can reap its rewards in this life and in the hereafter.
