Rewards of Paradise

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is teaching his companions that the rewards of Paradise are much better than anything they can experience in this world.

Al-Bara' reported that a garment of silk was presented to Allah's Messenger . His Companions touched it and admired its softness; there- upon he said: Do you admire the softness of this (cloth)? The handkerchiefs of Sa'd b. Mu'adh in Paradise are better than this.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for spiritual growth rather than material gain; Remain faithful and obedient to Allah's commands

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the rewards that await believers in paradise and how they will be far greater than anything we can experience on earth. The Prophet Muhammad was presented with a garment of silk and his companions admired its softness but he reminded them that the handkerchiefs of one of his companions, Sa’d bin Mu’adh, would be even softer in paradise. This hadith teaches us to not get too attached to worldly pleasures as they are nothing compared to what awaits us in paradise if we remain faithful and obedient to Allah's commands. We should strive for spiritual growth rather than material gain as it will bring us closer to Allah and ultimately lead us towards eternal bliss in the hereafter.
