Sacrificing the Last Gift

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad gave gifts of goats to his companions, and when one was left, he instructed them to sacrifice it.

Uqba b. 'Amir reported that Allah's Messenger gave the gifts of goats to be distributed amongst his Companions. They sacrificed them, but a lamb of one year of age was left. (Someone) made a mention of that to the Messenger of Allah , whereupon he said: You sacrifice it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous with what you have been given by Allah , Use your resources wisely , Show kindness towards others

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad giving gifts of goats to his companions. When one was left, he instructed them to sacrifice it as an act of worship and devotion towards Allah. This teaches us that even in our everyday lives, we should be mindful of how we use our resources and be generous with what we have been given by Allah. We should also remember that everything comes from Him and so whatever He has given us should be used for His pleasure and not just for ourselves. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us the importance of being generous with others; even if there is only a little bit left over after sharing something with someone else, it is still important to give it away in order to show kindness towards others.
