Show mercy and compassion towards animals

This hadith, narrated by Jabir b. 'Abdullah, states that Allah's Messenger forbade the killing of any beast after it has been tied. This means that animals should not be killed if they are restrained or unable to escape from a situation in which they are being threatened with death.
