Revelation of Quranic Verse in Response to Question

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the revelation of a Quranic verse and how it was revealed in response to a question asked by the son of Umm Maktum.

It has been narrated on the authority of Bara' who said: When the Qur'anic verse:" Those who sit (at home) from among mu'min" (iv. 94) was revealed, the son of Umm Maktum spoke to him (the Holy Prophet). (At this). the words:" other than those who have a trouble (illness)" were revealed.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ بِشْرٍ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ، قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ ‏{‏ لاَ يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ‏}‏ كَلَّمَهُ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَنَزَلَتْ ‏{‏ غَيْرُ أُولِي الضَّرَرِ‏}‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the revelation of a particular verse from the Quran. It was revealed when the son of Umm Maktum asked a question to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The verse that was revealed states that those who are believers should stay at home unless they have an illness or some other trouble. This teaches us that we should not leave our homes unnecessarily and instead stay at home and take care of ourselves and our families during difficult times. We should also be mindful when asking questions as it can lead to revelations from Allah SWT which can benefit us all.
