Sahih Muslim 1813 (Book 32, Hadith 176) #11804
Participating in Battles with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about Jabir's participation in battles alongside the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his father's decision to prevent him from participating in the Battle of Badr and Uhud due to his young age.

It has been reported on the authority of Abu Zubair who heard Jabir b. 'Abdullah say: I fought in the company of the Messenger of Allah nineteen battles. Jabir said: I did not participate in the Battle of Badr and the Battle of Uhud. My father prevented me (from participating in these battles as my age was tender). After 'Abdullah (my father) was killed on the Day of Uhud, I never lagged behind the Messenger of Allah and joined every battle (he fought).

This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to be close to our beloved prophet and follow him even if it means going against our parents' wishes or facing difficult obstacles along the way. It also teaches us that we should respect our parents and obey them as much as possible while still following what Allah has commanded us through His messenger, Muhammad PBUH.
