Honouring the Ansar and Muhajirs

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is asking God to grant honour to the Ansar and Muhajirs.

According to another version of the tradition, reported on the authority of Anas b. Malik, the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) is reported to have said: O God, there is no life but the life of the Hereafter, So grant honour to the Ansar and the Muhajirs.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about honouring the Ansar and Muhajirs. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was asking God to grant them honour in this world and in the hereafter. The Ansars were people from Madinah who welcomed Prophet Muhammad when he migrated from Makkah. They provided shelter for him and his followers when they were persecuted in Makkah. The Muhijrs were those who migrated with Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Madinah for safety reasons due to persecution by their own people in Makkah. This hadith teaches us that we should always show respect and appreciation towards those who have helped us or done something good for us no matter how small it may seem at first glance. We should also remember that our actions will be judged by Allah on the Day of Judgement so we must strive to do good deeds throughout our lives so that we can receive His blessings both here on earth as well as in the hereafter.
