EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the punishment for theft according to Islamic teachings. It was narrated by Ibn 'Umar that Allah's Messenger ordered the cutting off of a thief's hand in case of theft of a shield worth three Dirhams. This shows that stealing is not tolerated in Islam and there are consequences for it. The punishment is severe but it serves as an example to others so they do not commit such acts and instead work hard to earn their living honestly. It also teaches us that we should value our possessions and take care of them so no one can steal them from us. Furthermore, it teaches us to be honest and truthful in all our dealings with others as this will bring blessings into our lives both in this world and the hereafter.
