Consult religious scholars before assuming something is haram

This hadith discusses the ruling of marriage in relation to breastfeeding. Umm Fadl reported that a person from Banu 'Amir asked the Prophet Muhammad if one suckling makes the marriage unlawful, and he replied no. This means that even if a woman has breastfed a man, it does not make their marriage unlawful. The Prophet Muhammad's response shows us that Islam values family ties and encourages people to marry within their families, even if they have been breastfed by each other. It also teaches us that we should not be too quick to judge or assume something is haram without consulting religious scholars first.
