Marriage and Suckling

SUMMARY: A hadith that states that being suckled once or twice does not make marriage unlawful.

Umm Fadl (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah's Apostle said: Being suckled once or twice, or one suckling or two, do not make marriage unlawful.

QUICK LESSONS:
Think before you act; Respect family ties; Look at things from a broader perspective

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the relationship between marriage and suckling. It states that if someone has been suckled once or twice by a woman, it does not make their marriage unlawful. This means that even if two people have been nursed by the same woman in the past, they can still get married to each other without any problem. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was emphasizing here on the importance of family ties and how they should not be broken due to something as small as this. He was also teaching us to look at things from a broader perspective and think about how our actions will affect others before we do them.
