Sahih Muslim 1438c (Book 16, Hadith 148) #10683
Prohibiting Coitus Interruptus with Captives

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the prohibition of coitus interruptus (azl) when taking captives as wives.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported: We took women captives, and we wanted to do 'azl with them. We then asked Allah's Messenger about it, and he said to us: Verily you do it, verily you do it, verily you do it, but the soul which has to be born until the Day of judg- ment must be born.

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect life and accept God's decree without interfering in His plans.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and it talks about the prohibition of coitus interruptus when taking captives as wives. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that even though it may be done, the soul which has to be born until the Day of Judgement must be born. This means that even if a man does not want to have children with his captive wife, he still cannot practice coitus interruptus because Allah has already predetermined who will come into this world and who will not. Therefore, it is important for us to remember that we should not try to interfere in Allah's plans and accept whatever He has decreed for us. We should also remember that all souls are precious in His eyes and no one should ever try to prevent any soul from coming into this world.
