Sahih Muslim 1438d (Book 16, Hadith 149) #10684
The Ordained Birth of a Child

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that the birth of a child is something ordained by Allah and there is no harm if one does not practice it.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) (was asked if he had heard it himself), to which he said: Yes. (I heard) Allah's Apostle as saying: There is no harm if you do not practise it, for it (the birth of the child) is something ordained (by Allah).

QUICK LESSONS:
Accepting childbirth as something ordained by Allah .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, teaches us that the birth of a child is something ordained by Allah and there is no harm if one does not practice it. This means that although we may have certain customs or traditions related to childbirth, such as celebrating with family and friends, these are not necessary for the process itself. Rather, they are simply cultural practices which may be beneficial but are ultimately optional. The main point here is that the birth of a child itself has been predetermined by Allah and should be accepted as such without any additional practices or rituals being necessary.
