Marriage Laws in Islam

SUMMARY: A man asked the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) about a woman who was married and divorced twice before consummating either marriage, and the Prophet said that it was not lawful for her first husband to marry her again until he had tasted her sweetness.

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah's Messenger was asked about a woman whom a man married and then divorced her, and then she married (another) person, and she was divorced before sexual intercourse with her, whether it was lawful for her first husband (to marry her in this state). He (the Holy Prophet) said: No, until he has tasted her sweetness.

QUICK LESSONS:
Think carefully before making any decisions regarding your marriages as these decisions can have long-term consequences on your lives and relationships with others .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about marriage laws in Islam. According to this hadith, if a man divorces his wife before they have consummated their marriage, then it is not lawful for him to remarry her until he has “tasted” or experienced the sweetness of being married to her. This means that if they have already been intimate with each other, then it would be permissible for them to remarry without any further conditions. The main idea behind this law is that once two people are married, they should remain committed and loyal to each other even after divorce. It also teaches us that we should think carefully before making any decisions regarding our marriages as these decisions can have long-term consequences on our lives and relationships with others.
