Divorce and Marriage in Islam

SUMMARY: This hadith is about a woman who was divorced by her husband and then married another man. She came to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for advice on the matter.

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Rifa'a al Qurazi divorced his wife and afterwards 'Abd al-Rahman b. al-Zubair married her. She came to Allah's Apostle and said: Messenger of Allah, Rifa'a has divorced me by three pronouncements.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رِفَاعَةَ الْقُرَظِيَّ، طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ فَتَزَوَّجَهَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الزَّبِيرِ فَجَاءَتِ النَّبِيَّ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ رِفَاعَةَ طَلَّقَهَا آخِرَ ثَلاَثِ تَطْلِيقَاتٍ ‏.‏ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ يُونُسَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of marriage in Islam. It also highlights the importance of seeking advice from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The hadith also speaks about divorce and how it should be done according to Islamic law. According to this hadith, if a man divorces his wife three times then it is considered final and cannot be reversed. This shows that divorce should not be taken lightly as it has serious consequences for both parties involved. The Prophet Muhammad's advice was that if a couple can reconcile their differences then they should do so before taking such drastic measures as divorce.
