QUICK LESSONS:
Be grateful for any blessings or privileges received from Allah and use them wisely; Strive to become closer with Allah; Perform rituals according to Islamic teachings.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us that the Companions of Prophet Muhammad were given a special concession to perform the ritual of 'Tamattu'' during their pilgrimage to Mecca. 'Tamattu'' is an act where one performs Umrah and then returns home before performing the pilgrimage or 'Hajj'. This was a privilege granted only to those who were close to Prophet Muhammad and it was not available for everyone else. The values taught by this hadith are that we should be grateful for any blessings or privileges we receive from Allah and use them wisely. We should also strive to become closer to Allah so that He may grant us more blessings in our lives.
