Two Acts of Worship

SUMMARY: The Mother of the Believers (Allah be pleased with her) was told by the Messenger of Allah that people have come back with two acts of worship.

Ibn al-Muththanna reported on the authority of Ibn Abu'Adi who transmitted on the authority of Ibn'Aun who narrated from al-Qasim and Ibrahim having said: I cannot differentiate the hadith of one from the other (Qasim and Ibrahim) that the Mother of the Believers (Allah be pleased with her) said this: Messenger of Allah, people have come back with two acts of worship. The rest of the hadith is the same.
وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ، - قَالَ لاَ أَعْرِفُ حَدِيثَ أَحَدِهِمَا مِنَ الآخَرِ - أَنَّ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ - رضى الله عنها - قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ بِنُسُكَيْنِ ‏.‏ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about two acts of worship that people have come back with. It is narrated by a chain of narrators from the Mother of the Believers to the Messenger of Allah. These two acts are obedience and faith. Obedience means to follow what Allah has commanded us to do in His book and through His messenger Muhammad ﷺ. Faith means believing in all that Allah has revealed without any doubt or hesitation. Both these acts are essential for a believer as they bring one closer to Allah and help them attain salvation in this life and hereafter.
