EXPLANATIONS:
I’tikaf is a spiritual retreat that Muslims practice during the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan. It involves secluding oneself in a mosque and dedicating time to prayer, reflection, and worship. This was a practice that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself observed during his lifetime. He would spend these days in solitude, engaging in deep contemplation and connecting with Allah through prayer and supplication. By doing so, he set an example for us to follow as we strive to become closer to Allah during this blessed month. Through i’tikaf, we can learn how to be mindful of our actions and words while also learning how to appreciate the blessings bestowed upon us by Allah Almighty.
