Mindfulness and Awareness

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of being mindful and aware of one's actions.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Nadr with the same chain of transmitters, but he did not mention that he was mounting (riding on) his camel.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ‏.‏ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that we should always strive to remember Allah through dhikr, or remembrance, so that we may attain taqwa, or God-consciousness. Through this practice, we can become more aware of our own behavior and how it affects others. By being mindful and aware in all aspects of life, we can ensure that our actions are beneficial for ourselves as well as those around us.
