Sahih Muslim 1109d (Book 13, Hadith 98) #9737
Fasting Despite Ritual Impurity

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would sometimes wake up in a state of ritual impurity due to having sexual intercourse with his wives during the night, but not due to sexual dreams, and he would still observe fasts in the month of Ramadan.

Abu Bakr b. 'Abd al-Rahman b. al-Harith b. Hisham reported on the authority of 'A'isha and Umm Salama, the wives of the Messenger of Allah : The Messenger of Allah at times got up in the morning in a state of junub on account of having a sexual intercourse (with his wives during night) but not due to sexual dreams in the month of Ramadan, and would observe fast.

QUICK LESSONS:
Observe your religious obligations such as fasting despite any difficulty you may face while doing so .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights an important lesson about fasting during the holy month of Ramadan; even if one wakes up in a state of ritual impurity due to having sexual intercourse with their spouse during the night, they should still observe fasts as prescribed by Islam. This hadith was narrated by Abu Bakr b. 'Abd al-Rahman b. al-Harith b. Hisham on behalf of A'isha and Umm Salama, two wives of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is important to note that this hadith does not refer to any kind of sexual dream or wet dream which would render one's fast invalid according to Islamic teachings; rather it refers only to those who have engaged in physical intimacy with their spouses before waking up for suhoor or pre-dawn meal before beginning their fast for that day in Ramadan. This hadith serves as an example for us all that despite any kind of difficulty or hardship we may face while observing our religious obligations such as fasting during Ramadan, we should remain steadfast and continue fulfilling our duties towards Allah SWT without fail or hesitation so that we can reap its rewards both here on earth and hereafter in Jannah/Paradise inshaAllah!
