The Significance of Ramadan

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught about the importance of Ramadan.

This hadith is reported by Abu Huraira (with a slight alteration of words) that the Messenger of Allah said: " When (the month of) Ramadan begins".
وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، وَالْحُلْوَانِيُّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ صَالِحٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعُ بْنُ أَبِي أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، - رضى الله عنه - يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ إِذَا دَخَلَ رَمَضَانُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ بِمِثْلِهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith reported by Abu Huraira teaches us about the significance of the month of Ramadan. This is a special month in which Muslims are obligated to fast from sunrise to sunset and abstain from worldly pleasures. It is a time for spiritual reflection and growth as well as an opportunity to strengthen our relationship with Allah. During this month, Muslims are encouraged to increase their acts of worship such as prayer and charity. Additionally, it is also a time for family and friends to come together in celebration and gratitude for all that Allah has blessed us with.
