The Importance of Post-Friday Prayer Siesta and Lunch

SUMMARY: It is important to not have a siesta or lunch until after the Friday prayer during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Sahl b. Said said: We did not have a siesta or lunch till after the Friday prayer. (Ibn Hajr added: ) "During the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ".
وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الآخَرَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَهْلٍ، قَالَ مَا كُنَّا نَقِيلُ وَلاَ نَتَغَدَّى إِلاَّ بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ - زَادَ ابْنُ حُجْرٍ - فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ
