Sahih al-Bukhari 932 (Book 11, Hadith 56) #902
Praying for Rain in Times of Need

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering a sermon on a Friday when someone asked him to pray for rain due to the livestock and sheep dying.

Narrated Anas: While the Prophet was delivering the Khutba on a Friday, a man stood up and said, "O, Allah's Apostle! The livestock and the sheep are dying, so pray to Allah for rain". So he (the Prophet) raised both his hands and invoked Allah (for it).

EXPLANATIONS:
During the time of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), there were times when the livestock and sheep were dying due to lack of rain. On one such occasion, while he was delivering his sermon on a Friday, someone asked him to pray for rain. In response, he raised both his hands and invoked Allah for it. This hadith teaches us that we should turn to Allah in times of need and ask Him for help through prayer or supplication. We should also remember that He is All-Powerful and can provide us with whatever we need if it is good for us. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us how important it is to be mindful of our environment and take care of our animals as they are an important part of our lives.
