The Significance of Qunut in Prayers

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to perform Qunut in his morning and evening prayers.

Al-Bari' b. 'Azib reported that the Messenger of Allah observed Qunut in the morning and evening (prayers).

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform quntu during prayer with focus & understanding its meaning while reciting it in Arabic if possible .

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Al-Bari’ b. ‘Azib speaks about the importance of performing qunut during prayer. It is a form of supplication that is done during the prayer, usually after reciting the Fatiha and before going into ruku’ or prostration. This act is highly recommended as it allows one to express their gratitude and ask for God’s mercy and blessings upon themselves, their families, and all Muslims around the world. It also serves as a reminder that we are always dependent on Allah for our needs and should never forget to thank Him for His countless blessings upon us.

Qunut can be done in any language but it is best if it is done in Arabic since this was the language spoken by Prophet Muhammad himself when he performed qunut during his prayers. Furthermore, reciting qunut helps one to focus more on their prayer since they are actively engaging with what they are saying instead of just repeating words without understanding them or thinking about them deeply enough.
