Time Limits for Daily Prayers

SUMMARY: The hadith explains the time limits for each of the five daily prayers.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr that the Prophet said: "When you pray Fajr, its time is until the first part of the sun appears. When you pray Zuhr, its time is until 'Asr comes. When you pray 'Asr, its time is until the sun turns yellow. When you pray Maghrib, its time is until the twilight has disappeared. When you pray 'Isha, its time is until half of the night has passed".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ - حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمُ الْفَجْرَ فَإِنَّهُ وَقْتٌ إِلَى أَنْ يَطْلُعَ قَرْنُ الشَّمْسِ الأَوَّلُ ثُمَّ إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمُ الظُّهْرَ فَإِنَّهُ وَقْتٌ إِلَى أَنْ يَحْضُرَ الْعَصْرُ فَإِذَا صَلَّيْتُمُ الْعَصْرَ فَإِنَّهُ وَقْتٌ إِلَى أَنْ تَصْفَرَّ الشَّمْسُ فَإِذَا صَلَّيْتُمُ الْمَغْرِبَ فَإِنَّهُ وَقْتٌ إِلَى أَنْ يَسْقُطَ الشَّفَقُ فَإِذَا صَلَّيْتُمُ الْعِشَاءَ فَإِنَّهُ وَقْتٌ إِلَى نِصْفِ اللَّيْلِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains the time limits for each of the five daily prayers. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when praying Fajr, its time is until the first part of the sun appears. When praying Zuhur its time is until 'Asar comes. When praying 'Asar its time is until the sun turns yellow. When praying Maghrib its time is until twilight has disappeared and when praying Isha'a its time is until half of the night has passed. This hadith teaches us to be mindful and conscious about our prayer times so that we can fulfill our obligations as Muslims in a timely manner and reap all of their benefits in this life and hereafter. It also encourages us to be punctual with our prayers so that we can stay connected with Allah SWT throughout our day-to-day lives and receive His blessings in abundance.
