Consideration for Mothers

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) shortened his prayers out of consideration for a mother whose child was crying.

Anas b. Malik reported the Messenger of Allah having said: When I begin the prayer I Intend to make it long, but I hear a boy crying; I then shorten it because of his mother's feelings.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show compassion and kindness to others
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of compassion and consideration in our lives. The Prophet Muhammad's example shows us that even when we are engaged in something as important as prayer, we should still be mindful of the feelings of others and take them into account. In this case, he shortened his prayer out of consideration for a mother whose child was crying. This teaches us that even when we are focused on our own spiritual pursuits or obligations, it is important to remember those around us and show them kindness and understanding.
