Show compassion and kindness to others

This hadith speaks to the importance of compassion and consideration in our lives. The Prophet Muhammad's example shows us that even when we are engaged in something as important as prayer, we should still be mindful of the feelings of others and take them into account. In this case, he shortened his prayer out of consideration for a mother whose child was crying.
