Sahih Muslim 467a (Book 4, Hadith 208) #8213
Consideration in Prayer

SUMMARY: When leading a prayer, one should be brief and considerate of the people present, but when praying alone one can pray for as long as they like.

Abu Huraira reported: The Apostle of Allah said: When any one of you leads the people in prayer, he should be brief for among them are the young and the aged, the weak and the sick. But when one of you prays by himself, he may (prolong) as he likes.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of being considerate when leading a prayer. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when leading a prayer, it should be kept short so that those who are young, old, weak or sick can keep up with it. However, if someone is praying alone then they can take their time and pray for as long as they like. This hadith teaches us to be mindful of others and to think about how our actions may affect them. It also encourages us to take our time in private prayers so we can focus on connecting with Allah SWT without any distractions or limitations.
