Taking Turns in Bathing

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad and his wife Aisha taking a bath together from one vessel, and how they would take turns.

'A'isha reported: I and the Messenger of Allah took a bath from one vessel which was placed between me and him and he would get ahead of me, so that I would say: Spare (some water for) me, spare (some water for) me; and she said that they had had sexual intercourse.
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أَغْتَسِلُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ، مِنْ إِنَاءٍ - بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ - وَاحِدٍ فَيُبَادِرُنِي حَتَّى أَقُولَ دَعْ لِي دَعْ لِي ‏.‏ قَالَتْ وَهُمَا جُنُبَانِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad and his wife Aisha taking a bath together from one vessel. They would take turns, with the Prophet getting ahead of her so that she would have to ask him to spare some water for her. After they finished bathing, it is said that they engaged in sexual intercourse. This hadith teaches us the importance of taking turns when sharing resources, as well as respecting each other's needs even when we are close to each other like husband and wife. It also shows us how important it was for them to maintain their modesty even while being intimate with each other.
