Sahih Muslim 113a (Book 1, Hadith 214) #7479
The Consequences of Reckless Actions

SUMMARY: A person from the past pierced a boil with an arrow and died, and God forbade his entrance into Paradise.

It is reported on the authority of Hasan: A person belonging to the people of the past suffered from a boil, when it pained him, he drew out an arrow from the quiver and pierced it. And the bleeding did not stop till he died. Your Lord said: I forbade his entrance into Paradise. Then he (Hasan) stretched his hand towards the mosque and said: By God, Jundab transmitted this hadith to me from the Messenger of Allah in this very mosque.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a person from the past who suffered from a boil. In order to relieve himself of the pain, he took an arrow out of his quiver and pierced it. Unfortunately, this action caused him to bleed until he died. As punishment for his recklessness in taking such drastic measures without consulting anyone else or seeking medical help first, God forbid him entrance into Paradise. Hasan then stretched out his hand towards the mosque and said that Jundab had transmitted this hadith to him from the Messenger of Allah in that very mosque. This hadith teaches us that we should be careful with our actions as they can have serious consequences if done recklessly or without proper thought or consultation with others first. We should also seek help when needed instead of trying to solve our problems on our own as we may not always make wise decisions by ourselves alone.
