Sahih al-Bukhari 7512 (Book 97, Hadith 137) #7214
The Power of Good Deeds and Charity

SUMMARY: This hadith emphasizes the importance of doing good deeds and giving charity, even if it is something small like half a date, in order to save oneself from the Hellfire.

Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim: Allah's Messenger said, "There will be none among you but his Lord will talk to him, and there will be no interpreter between him and Allah. He will look to his right and see nothing but his deeds which he has sent forward, and will look to his left and see nothing but his deeds which he has sent forward, and will look in front of him and see nothing but the (Hell) Fire facing him. So save yourself from the (Hell) Fire even with half a date (given in charity)". Al-A'mash said: 'Amr bin Murra said, Khaithama narrated the same and added, '.even with a good word'. "

QUICK LESSONS:
Do Good Deeds, Give Away Half A Date In Charity And Speak Kindly To Others

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of doing good deeds and giving charity, even if it is something small like half a date. Allah's Messenger said that everyone will be confronted with their own deeds on Judgement Day; those who have done good will be rewarded while those who have done bad will face punishment. Therefore, we should strive to do as many good deeds as possible in our lives so that we can save ourselves from the Hellfire. Even something as small as giving away half a date in charity can help us achieve this goal. We should also remember that our words are just as important; speaking kindly to others is also considered an act of charity and kindness which can help us gain rewards on Judgement Day.
