Slaughtering Sacrifices in the Name of Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that those who have not yet slaughtered a sacrifice should do so and mention Allah's Name while doing so.

Narrated Jundab: That he witnessed the Prophet on the Day of Nahr. The Prophet offered prayer and then delivered a sermon saying, "Whoever slaughtered his sacrifice before offering prayer, should slaughter another animal in place of the first; and whoever has not yet slaughtered any, should slaughter a sacrifice and mention Allah's Name while doing so".
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جُنْدَبٍ، أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ صَلَّى ثُمَّ خَطَبَ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ مَنْ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فَلْيَذْبَحْ مَكَانَهَا أُخْرَى، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَذْبَحْ فَلْيَذْبَحْ بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of slaughtering sacrifices in the name of Allah. It was narrated by Jundab, who witnessed the Prophet on the Day of Nahr. The Prophet offered prayer and then delivered a sermon saying that whoever has not yet slaughtered any animal for sacrifice should do so and mention Allah's Name while doing it. This hadith teaches us to be mindful when we are sacrificing animals for religious purposes, as we must remember to always mention God’s name during this process.
